A Jazz pianist I've just recently discovered with a good example of her live performance here (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=r99Synkmm18&feature=related).

But what I want to know is this: What sort of jazz IS this? I know on Wikipedia it states jazz fusion but that didn't seem quite right to me. If anyone could recommend a similar musician it would be much appreciated. Another example of what I'm looking for would be the sort of jazz they put in ALL of the Gran Turismo games, if any of you are videogamers ;)

Thanks a lot!

Wow, that's amazing. Nice find.

It's smooth jazz or lounge jazz, something along those lines. I'm afraid I cant suggest any similar artists though.

Damn, that's a shame. I used the search bar and there's been one or two threads about her but no mentions of other similar musicians. Thanks anyway!

I just heard Another Mind a few days ago after hearing her on a BBC Four jazz fest thing. Its so great, the drummer and herself are really incredible musicians.

Pianist and composer Hiromi Uehara, whose passionate and incendiary keyboard work has been a shining light on the jazz landscape since her 2003 debut, believes that the voice that never speaks can sometimes be the most powerful of all.
