ALICE f*cking COOPER?

I like Alice Cooper very much, and he was of course instrumental in the punk movement.

The only mainstream artist that Johnny Rotten considered to be good.

My favourite song is Teenage Lament '74, it's probably not one of his most famous, but it's an excellent song.

Also worth mentioning is "I'm Eighteen", which is also fantastic.

The early stuff was better, the Coop sort of lost the plot in the '80's, but the early stuff is very important. Plus, Glen Buxton's guitar style was simple but effective.

Who else gives kudos?

Buxton is one of my favorite guitarists
and I sure do love the Coop

I love the Coop man.

He even plays Stooges songs on his radio show.

And he's a generally cool dude.

It's OK. Some of it's a little too hair-metallish for my taste.

I like "No More Mr. Nice Guy."

I haven't listened to enough of his music to really say whether or not I like him, but he is certainly interesting to listen to in interviews and in movies.

Friggin love THE BAND Alice Cooper. After that I really think I couldn't give a ****. After Welcome To My Nightmare, (the only good solo album, other than the more recent Eyes of Alice Cooper which was a revist to his older music style), Mr Vincent Damon Furnier went way downhill.

And, obviously, the record store in town doesn/'t have copies of Easy Action or Pritties For You, essentially limiting my knowledge of the band's music to Love It To Death and Billion Dollar Babies.

They didn't even have Killer when I went :(

haven't heard much. I heard his album stuff and early work is real good. But judging by the radio/tv etc. every song I have ever heard totally sucks.

I like his radio show, too.

planet rock radio mornings, I believe.

The highlights are on now, and I switched on to "See Emily Play" by Pink Floyd.

Coincidentally, I was listening to that exact song before I tuned in :D

Now it's Kick out the Jams by the MC5.

Yeah, I'm eighteen.

And he used to busk with Sid Vicious, and that was the song they played.

Dear Alice Cooper,
I'd like to thank you for not only delivering a bang up live show, but in the process cutting out the middle man in the poultry slaughtering industry. Chicken, being my second favorite source of protein next to spiced tofu, wouldn't be the same without you, Mr. Cooper.

Christina, you must, I repeat, MUST send that in to his radio show! He probably will read it on the air!

(but add a song request to it)

I'm sure he's sick of novelty chicken killing jokes. Unless he enjoys flattering the song requests of suburban 16 year old girls who still laugh at stale Anchorman references.

I've only heard that song "School's Out" (that's him, right?), and that song's annoying so I never bothered to check him out further.

who still laugh at stale Anchorman references.

Anchorman is pretty much the most culturally significant movie of our generation.

Everyone quotes it.

I still laugh at Anchorman quotes.

Even when they're horribly inaccurate.

I can't say that about Chappelle. When people quote his show, it's like nails being jammed in my ear.

Anyone who complains that Will Ferrell keeps making the same movie just doesn't get it.

He's found a winning formula.

You don't do something different when what you're currently doing is so successful.

That'd be like The Ramones switching to Prog Rock after "Leave Home."

/off topic rant.

EDIT: I think I may be the only person who hasn't seen Anchorman...

I've never seen the 40 yr old virgin. :(

In reference to the first post, I couldn't give two sh*ts what Johnny Rotten thinks about anyone.

That being said... Alice Cooper is pretty badass.
