250 in sigs

If i look like a n00b my appoligies but i wanted to take the stupid Mike Huckabee deal out of my sig and put in a quote of this dude dissing my band. But it says i have too many characters. I understand if there is a limit but im posititve there are sigs with way more than 250 characters.

So is it me or can one of you help?

There are some really big signatures, yet the limit is only 250 characters.

I think that's including the [ you use for tags. But there's people with rainbows in their sigs? :confused:
