Select "B," and keep hitting "Variations" 'til you find one you like.

To play any kind of standard B chord, a barre must be used. That means that you will hate your guitar for a little while as you learn to properly do the barre. You've listed one type of B chord, though the second fret on the low E string is not necessary and actually makes your chord B/F#, which is fine but not always what you want. An alternate way to play B is this: 799677.

Take the notes in the chord and play them in any order, anywhere on the fretboard.

This is the one that all the pros use.

And by all the pros you mean who exactly as I know a lot of guitarists who play B as the method listed with the low E muted. Matt Bellamy for one, John Petrucci.

Generally the barre method is the best method for a strong sounding B. Bangoodcharlotte's barre variation (E major shape) is likely your best bet if your barre chords aren't too good as barre chords are easier closer to the middle of the fretboard.

799877 B major.

i hate tucking my figners for a more common B barre, but i got used to it. Takes time.

Why/how the fuck are people finding 9-month old threads that have been answered and bumping them to the first page?
