For me it's just seeing more than 4 people there who are into whatever your playing, that's my favourite thing. My least favourite is lugging the all the stuff in and out of the venue as it can be tiring.

my favorite thing is when everybody is screaming and trying to sing along.
my least favorite thing is when no one moves and everyone is just staring at you :s

I'm fine with lugging everything in, but the past couple of gigs i've done I literally couldn't carry my stuff back out I was so exhausted.

My best would be when you have everyone in the room dancing and singing along to one of your own songs.

Best thing is the rush of the whole room headbanging in unison to your song XD
Worst thing is all the stuff you have to pull together for a weekend gig, but it still rocks like hell! XD

Best thing is being up on stage with people you make music with, chilling with a few beers and actually looking like your having a good time.

Worst thing is having too much alcohol and then seeing the videos afterwards (only happened once luckily :p: )

The best thing is getting a crowd reaction out of a sweet improvisation.

The worst thing is worrying about tuning, especially after epic bends.

Oh yeah, another bad one is when you're coming up to your epic closing solo and you string slips madly out of tune, so you have to try and figure out how to play the solo whilst missing out that string

What I hate most is getting to the gig 2 hours ahead of time, setting everything up, and then doing NOTHING for 1 and a half hours. This is the most dangerous time of the day, because it's sooooo easy and tempting to drink/do other stuff, but that's pretty much ALWAYS a terrible idea. I never drink more than 1-2 beers before I'm onstage, but that can be hard when you're out on the road in the middle of bumfuk Texas and have nothing else to do but drink with the buds.

Best thing is getting a reaction out of a crowd, (especially if it's a good reaction ;) )
Worst is packing the gear away at the end of the night.

The worst thing is how much I suck, but the best thing is how much nobody knows how much I suck.

best: having someone come up to you after a show an say how much they liked it and offer to buy you a beer

worst: waiting to play,

Best - playing an entire set of your own original material and getting an encore (followed closely by playing live and actually having a good monitor mix... ah, simple pleasures... :haha)

Worst - yeah, the waiting to go on, and the hauling gear out of your car and into your basement at 3:00am. Followed by brain-dead-air-head girls asking you for your phone number, just because they hope to one day say "my boyfriend plays in a band!" Followed by the one occasion back in high school when we played Talk Dirty to Me by Poison, and the band did the little lead-up at the end of the solo, and there I was for my little exposed part of the solo... all five notes.... just me by myself..... and fanned on and flubbed every bloody last one of them... at a big outdoor festival! :o Grrrr!!!

I actually enjoy the waiting. Having a few beers with the band and 'roadies' is good fun and gets us prepared for the gig. Through experiance i've found a better bond between the band makes a better gig.

Worst part - a bad monitor mix. Ruins gigs.

My standards have always been higher than that. I always maintained I'd rather meet a girl in a library than in a bar. At least I know she can read.

the actualy act of playing live plus the drive to the gig if its more than 100 miles away is my favorite.

the act of breaking down the stuff and putting it back in the van is my least favorite.
than and having only your parents, friends or girlfriends watch your band when the band before had everyone paying attention. that bugs me even when its not my band it happens to....

best thing about playing live: rocking out to your favorite original song and having the band love it

worst thing about playing live: when the audience loves it when you rock out to the one original song you absolutely hate

unfortunately, if that happens to you, you just have to deal with it...it's retarded to throw out your best song because you dont like it

Best: Easily having people singing along to something that you wrote. You have to love that.

Worst: You've just finished your set, everything has crashed down in a cacophony of feedback and weird noises, you're sweating and everyone is applauding. Then, you look up and the next band are inpatiently tappin their feet and you have to start unplugging your FX pedals and packing away. Weak.

Worst: Not being able to hear anybody else, Hauling all your stuff, driving for what seems like forever.

Best: The feeling after playing a set of your own stuff and the general rush you get from being on stage.

Favourite: I get to make a twat out of myself onstage with my friends in front of a bunch of people

Least favourite: I'm a little weakling so it tires me out like hell >_<

Best: Everybody just rockin' to your songs, cheering, going crazy, but the best is when you mess up terribly and you know it, but the crowd doesn't notice.
Worst: Leaving the stage after you play. Or an extremely noticeable mistake.

Favorite: a really long, on-stage jam session, with every band member taking a solo.

Worst: waiting for your band to go on, and you just sit there bored for an hour or two

my favorite part is when i get up on stage, and everybody starts shouting. then when we start playing, the sound is so immense, and just so ****ing awesome.
the worst part for me is the lack of music between songs, when our singer is talking to the audience. for this reason, we've started doing it this way.
the song ends. me or the guitarist start playing while the singer talks to the audience. it sounds kind of cool.

I've got a new one.

Watching a overly drunk band member stumble around dangerously close to your brand new guitar, which is carefully propped up on the corner of the stage, liable to being knocked off.
