let's see them! here are my significant others :D

here's my favorite (and cheapest), the love of my life Jenny

http://photos-f.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v59/209/74/53700561/n53700561_30275957_5080.jpg

next up is my les paul style Fernandes Ravelle, Debra. Debra and I have a rocky relationship, varying between the best of times and the worst of times, but I couldn't do without her.

http://photos-h.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v38/209/74/53700561/n53700561_30127255_9126.jpg

Here's a gibson blueshawk that I just sold a few weeks ago. Had her about a year but never made enough of a connection to give her a name. Hopefully the guy I sold her to appreciates her more than me!

http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/8435/blueshawk010ad4.jpg

and right now I'm lusting after this hot mama... may buy her within a week :D

:haha dude I thought I was the only one who had a real relationship with my guitar :haha

I'll post some pics of my beautiful Classic Player's 50s Strat when I get some. And I've had her for like a year and I still have yet to come up with a good name. I'll come up with an idea, but she'll start to play bad, which makes me decide that she didn't like that. So I've yet to come up with a good name for her.

Jimmy94

the blueshawk was without a doubt one of the most beautiful guitars I had seen, and it had a great tone... just not for me. Just like a lot of the women I've met over the years :D

If you're ever going to buy one, the sooner the better. They went out of production in 2005 and the price has been going up steadily ever since. I bought it a year ago for 600 and sold it three weeks ago for 760.

My ol' Squier, first electric I bought. I don't know what I'd do without it (thats weird, its more than just a guitar but I still can't justify calling it "her" for some reason). Plays like a beast and has some great tone. Gutted it last summer, repainted (was originally electron blue), and has GFS Fat PAF's in it.

In use this past month. Playing some Santana for a 90s Pop Show.

Its been too long since I've played blues on it, my amp's kinda being held hostage right now :(

Roy Buchanan, Albert Collins, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page all used Telecasters with The Yardbirds, Muddy Waters, Steve Cropper (from Booker T & The MGs), Albert Lee used a Tele alot I think, Status Quo (if you count their 3-chord shuffle as blues, I suppose it's blues/rock)

I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting..

i think that the ultimate 3 guitar lineup is:

A 60's Fender Strat - i would say a 50's strat, but they're rarer than a good Lindsay Lohan film,
A 50's Gibson Les Paul - i really don't need to explain this one!
A 50's Gibson ES335 - once again, don't need to explain why!

Im so poor.....

How do you like the twin?

Dimebag22
06-04-2008, 08:03 PM
It's actually amazing. Very versatile amp. It was crystal clear cleans, and with my OD pedals I get a creamy overdrive on the clean channel. Then the OD is fucking awesome. I can go anywhere from SRV blues tone to Iron Maiden\AC/DC distorted tone.

And it really brings out the guitar you are playing, like if I put the OD I have for hard rock/rock on my Strat, it won't really sound hard rock at all, you'll get the blues tone out of it. But when I use my ESP EC 1000, the Seymour's really shine and it gives you a really good classic rock tone.

My unnamed Carvin strat. I don't have many many many guitars but this one does me for blues, had her first gig experiance two weekends ago at the Rory Gallagher tribute festival, I played her at four gigs (did two songs on three, three songs on one) another guy played her two songs at three gigs, and yet another guy played her on two songs at two gigs.
She was quite popular.

I absolutely love it! I had the intentions of buying a Tele and it came down to a 52 re-issue and the Baja. Not only was the Baja half the price, I honestly preferred it over the 52RI after an afternoon of playing both.

You can see on that photo that I have the S-1 Switch on the volume knob pressed in for some Peter Green-style out of phase tone. The range of tones it can produce is amazing and through my Tweed Classic 30 it's the perfect Tele for blues.

American Special Strat, I love this guitar. I have had it for a little less than a year now and it is still unnamed. Bad luck huh?

Nice! It would look even better with gold hardware + cream (or gold) pickups.

My friend/other guitarist uses one of those as his backup to his LP. Really nice guitars. :) The electronics are messed up and the middle pickup doesn't work, but it's a great guitar to play. His is red and really battered now, the neck is soooo worn.

The electrics are pretty screwy.

It buzzes something awful on bad days, and the neck is pretty worn. My dad fiddled with it a good bit. The bridge pup is a Seymour Duncan stacked humbucker and the tapper switch now turns the neck pup on no matter what position the selector is in, so I can have every combination of pick up.

Hey man, check my fave guitarists in my profile. I have some pretty high standards lol.
I noticed alot of R&B influeces (plus I saw that Ray Charles is your favorite) If I wanted to get into some of that stuff, whats some required listening and how can I apply it to my playing? Ive been playing for almost 2 years and your style is what I aspire to play like.
And thanks, Ive never seen a strat like it and it felt right so I scooped it up. I wanna get a SG or a 339 for some slide playing eventually.

well, i would obviously reccomend listening to ray charles. mostly the stuff he did with atlantic records will be perfect. also, alot of otis redding is a must. he is the willie dixon of soul music.
alot of the solos in this kind of music, esp. Ray charles, is played by saxophones and pianos. one of the best ways to improve your soloing, especially in this style of music, is to learn from great sax and piano players. lately, actually, ive been trying to sound like an organ player, which is very cool.

also, dont be afraid to steal licks from everyone you like.
its also good to learn all your jazz chords, and learn to use them properly. your picking hand should be real percussive, almost like a funk player can do.

Always loved your rig, MP. RMC3 is probably my next piece of gear (or a delay of some kind). How do you like the King of Tone? Is it pretty transparent or is it based off TS circuitry like I'd suspect from analogman?

Thanks, I love the KOT, I have it set to a heavy overdrive and a clean boost; its really transparent. I'd say if anything its based off of the blues breaker circut. Great thing is you can switch out the chips (I did, I bought like 6 and ended up reverting back to the originals). The RMC3 is awesome I have it set to a fatter chewier version of the picture wah.

Ill probably be selling my delay to my friend in my band, Im helping him build his rig so far he has my old analogman ts808 and he just bought a Vox AC-15 that I was going to buy. Next he's getting my delay and he's saving up for a Epiphone Sheraton II. I think I might get a analogman delay or a Line 6 DL-4.

Awesome strat.

All red laces? That's an odd one! It can't be '83/'84 as they didn't make them 'til the late eighties and you have the post-1993 LSR nut and locking tuners (earlier models had the Wilkinson nut). It's earlier than '95 because its got the serial code on the front of the headstock. Could be a hybrid though, but the neck is definitely '93/'94. Serial will start with an N.

Really good website to check out (entirely dedicated to the strat plus range):

The serial starts with an E :p:

After CBS sold Fender in 1985, there was no production of Fender guitars in the U.S. from February, 1985 to October, 1985 (almost 8 months!). When the Corona plant was started up, only the Vintage Reissue Stratocaster models were produced between late 1985 through 1986. Finally, as we talk about the Plus Series, the Fender-Lace Sensor Pickups, invented by Don Lace, were introduced in 1987. Some experimental Lace Sensors were used on a few 1984 Strat too, but they are pretty rare to fine. A Lace Sensor "Dually" was also used in the Ultra and some Tele Plus' using two Lace Sensors placed side-by-side, looking like a humbucker but were actually two independent pickups.

He reallys knows his strat plus's inside out. Although having said that the Fender spec sheet for my guitar said my guitar was a different colour to what it actually is. Fender can be, for want of a better word, useless.

double edit: i don think it really matters anyway, my main guitar is a jordin strat copy with no paint left on it and a thin layer of decking oil to stop it warping from moisture, master tone wiring with mismatched knobs, missing the middle pickup and has broken hacksaw blade pieces under the bridge for highter action cause the saddles are screwed, my slide guitar (currently tuned to open e) is a freedom sg copy and is barely playable as a regular guitar becaus the neck is thicker than any neck ive ever blayed, the acoustic is an aria(great guitar for the price), and the amp i literally the cheapest amp i could find

My go to guitar, I am going to stick a black pickguard on it when I get round to it.
Its a completely standard old model H1 Strat, I perfer them to the new ones as they have the standard pickups and the smaller headstock. It is a fantastic guitar.

My main amp (yes I know) but there is alot of bang for the buck in this amp, it has a brilliant, shining, very loud, clean sound, great for emulating an SRV tone, plus it hasn't broken down yet.

And now I want another Strat, probably a white MIM, with a RW board, to put some lipstick pickups in.
I'm assuming you play something other than blues if you have a 6260 (Basically a 5150)?

I kinda want a Bugera 1960. Loud and clean.

Well I play rock, bit of Satriani even, but mostly blues and other derivatives like soul, R&B an rock but I never use the lead channel as it is just too high gain for me, and stick to the crunch and clean channels, it is very clean if that is what you require.
If you want Bugera for blues though, do it, they are actually good amps once you get past the 'it's not a Marshall, etc' stuff.

Too bad Fender doesn't make a simple Mexi strat with a nitro finish that's not reliced. Paying 900 bucks for a mexi strat+2 hours of steel wool work= teh failz.

The Master Plan

I payed $750 (thanks Mom & Pop shops) and I would have definitely bought an unreliced thin nitro finished one (even though Fender has nitro guitars they cover the nitro in a poly coat, which totally defeats the purpose), but alas they don't sell them. This is the closest I'll get to a thin nitro finished guitar in a long time (after grad school hopefully).

Yeah, give it a few months and the generic wear will be different.

And thanks I like the blue strap I was thinking of getting an army green colored one.

I don't actually play through a bass amp, when that was taken my valve amp was elsewhere. That's also not my pedal, I don't really know how to get decent sounds out of pedals.

it's a Fender TC-90, if you don't know the model. I got it when I couldn't decide between getting a tele, or a custom. during that search I found this, and fell in love!
