Hey who here likes Family Groove Company. They are a band from Chicago(my hometown). They play jazz and funk based music mostly, they are also somewhat of a "jam band" as in they do extended improvisations and take quite a bit of their style from other jame bands, i.e. Grateful Dead. I also, think their singer's voice sounds a lot liek Garcia's. I'm listening to their album "The Charmer" now and felt like posting this haha. So has anyone else heard them?

So no one has been here in a while, just jammin' to their new cd Models and Metrics. So has anyone heard of them now. I saw them open for Umphrey's McGee 10/10/09 and they KILLED it! Great musicians and cool people.

hah thanks for bumping up this thread! I'd forgotten about it ;)
how was Umphrey's. I was checking out the word on their latest album - they appear to be leaving the extended improvised sections out of the main compositions (unlike tunes from LBDOK), and more as a facet of their live shows.
