What can you tell me about Joe Satriani?

I've always heard and known about him but I've recently started listening more and hell I'm addicted!!!

Can you tell me what sort of pedals and effects he uses a lot, and guitars, amps, etc. How does he get those sounds?

He plays mainly Ibanez, and has multiple sig. models. Don't know much about his amps though.
