I was bored and decided to make a thread about those young guitarists that make you so angry, under like 15 and sound like greats. :P

Try not to start discussing how they can't play with soul etc. they are young give em a break.

Here and my 4 top ones off youtube.

The only problem I have with most of the prodigies I have seen is that they focus too much upon one artist, and thus become a replica, rather than someone unique.

However, they were all fairly good. Let's hope that they can harvest their potential.

I don't think that Quinn Sullivan kid is all that good. I think that being a child prodigy extends beyond technical skill and needs tasteful phrasing. He just uses and re uses the same licks, with little variation.

I don't like people who copy extensively, especially copying SRV. I mean, I quite like SRV but just playing the guitar like the man isn't enough for me, sure it's great musicianship and all, but a great voice is what makes blues for me. Plus I'm jealous as ****. :haha

All good players. I din't like that Cole kid-very predictable blues licks and I just didn't hear any soul in it. Nontheless a very talented kid

Sani...Falko...Jimmy...

What?! :haha

The great thing about those kids was that they were just playing, you know? I mean, just having fun and everything. Those are other kids, however, were some serious cats. They wanted to give the impression of being good.

I'm under 15.... :p:

They were all pretty decent. Nothing too special about them apart from them being young.

Yeah he is ^

I'm not much of one to really praise child prodigies. 90% of them either disappear, or (as stated above) focus so much on one artist they become a straight copy. And also above, I agree with whoever said that there's nothing special about them, except the age. I mean, the age is impressive, but the playing isnt really

Except for that 17 year old. Thats cool stuff!

Another one to check is Davy Knowles (Back Door Slam). Yeah he's 19, but better than a lot of people I have seen lately, and he doesn't just rip an artist. He's got his own thing going on (for the most part).

Did you guys read the info on the video seljer posted?

The youngest kid found success as a teenager and got into drugs and went to jail for 5 years.

though wikipedia says "Jimmy Rosenberg's problems with heavy drugs have prevented him from an international breakthru, and he is now most of the time in hospitals or rehab."

so... :(

Yeah I realised that. Just the fact like you pointed out how the drugs prevented the international breakthrough. Is just another problem these kids face.
