Okay, I was just wondering if it is okay to put a RickRoll in my sig IF the link says something like "this is a rickroll, you have been warned" or something like that?

i dont know if i will actually do it, but i'm too curious not to know.

you should just go look up a song and learn to play it instead

I dont fully understand the sciences behind a rick roll but if you are gonna warn someone about the rick roll, then the rick roll loses its purpose. So really it would be a pointless link in your sig.

In answer to your question, mods have been known to "bend" the rules, especially regarding sigs, of the venture is of some benfit to someone, and these allowances are usually only given to longtime loyal UG'ers. That have been steadily contributing to the site for a couple of years. So to be honest i cant really see them bending the rules for you.

can somebody kindly tell me what exactly a Rick Roll is?

I've been quietly wondering this for some time now, but i just can't figure it out....its a video of a singer named Rick Atsley singing Never Gonna Give You Up

I like the song, but now the mods have deemed it an annoying meme. so it's like posting the Pear I guess

A brief history of the rick roll

The rick roll was first invented somewhere in the forum of / b / as a thing called a duck roll.

Users would promise other users into clicking a link that they thought was of interest (usually pornographic in nature) but would instead be sent to a picture of a duck on wheels. You can view the duck roll simply by googling duck roll.

Along the lines, someone replaced the image of the duck with the video of rick astley. Thus the rick roll was born.

The point being, it has to be a surprise.
