Who's your favourite shredder? Also, I mean REAL shredder. No poser guitarists.
(Also, I apologize if this has already {probably has} been posted before, but whatever).

Would Alexi Laiho count as a shredder?

If so, then he's my top pick. Yngwie Malmsteen's another one of my favorites.

Vinnie Moore has become my new favorite shredder, but Joe Satriani is a close second

I just started listening to shred, so far im impressed with satch and vai, MAB has technical skill but his music doesn't really have any structure or emotion to it, its just him playing real fast.

Jason Becker/Marty Friedman, they are one and the same in my opinion ;P

NAh Marty Friedman and Becker are quite different styles.

Marty tends too explore more exotic sounds, and becker tends too explore more of classical harmonies.

I do't really have 1 fav.

I'd say Satch or Marty

Paul Gilbert and John Petrucci always feature very highly on my lists of shredders I like along with Guthrie Govan and Jeff Loomis.

However, picking just one is impossible; they're all awesome in completely different ways.

Buckethead, Shawn Lane, Guthrie Govan, Paul Gilbert. Few more could be said but those are main ones I've been listening to lately.

Buckethead is probably more of a favorite over all of them so I could just mention him. But Shawn Lane needs mention either way.

I might have misspelled Guthrie's name but...yeah, I'm not a great speller :p:

Buckethead.

I've never seen any musician release so much material that is consistently amazing.
