Yes it can, frozen with nuts and sugar, etc is a good treat.

I believe you have to heat it up, then freeze it though. Somethign about breaking the bonds of molecules?

It is, but I believe after cooking it will freeze if put in the freezer. (depending on if your making hard candy)

P.S. Just cause it has water doesn't mean it will freeze.

Storage
Maple syrup should be refrigerated to ensure freshness (even if the bottle hasn't been opened). You can also freeze maple syrup to extend its life indefinitely. If the syrup is refrigerated in glass containers, then the syrup will maintain quality for a year. Plastic bottles are a little porous, so refrigerator shelf life is usually around three to four months. If you need to store syrup purchased in plastic bottles for longer term storage, pour it into a glass bottle or jar and refrigerate.

Actually alcohol is anaqueous and so doesn't contain any water....

It does freeze, just at a much lower temperature than water.

Real maple syrup or the artificial stuff ?

Actually I can't think of any good reason why you would ever freeze real maple syrup...

After cooking it, it turns into solid rocks
can a solid freeze?

Oh, you mean not cooking it to make candies.

Anywas can maple syrup freeze in a regular freezer and if not how cold would it have to be? :p:anything will freeze if you get it cold enough. even air.

but how cold? dunno. apparently your freezer isn't cold enough. and honestly, it might damage the tissues in your mouth and throat if you get it much colder and ingest it.

just like adding salt to water, adding sugar lowers the freezing point. and there are probably some natural oils emulsified in the syrup, too.

maple sugar candy is made by boiling off more of the water, not by freezing.

Actually alcohol is anaqueous and so doesn't contain any water....lol wut?

most liquors contain as much or more water than they do alcohol.
look for the proof number. 2 proof = 1% alcohol

100 proof = 50% alcohol.
a few liquors have more.
many have less.

200proof = 100%
but it won't stay that way long. an open container of pure alcohol will absorb water right out of the air. water dissolves readily in alcohol.
