Darkness in Zero

Hey! Check out my songs everyone! I wrote, performed, and recorded these tunes myself. They are instrumental for now, because I attempted doing the vocals but failed miserably, so until I find a vocalist, they are instrumental jams. Check it out!

www.soundclick.com/darknessinzero
All the tunes are free to download, so enjoy!

Update:
A new album is in the works, and a song teaser should be up soon! In the meantime, enjoy the tunes. They can be sound at either:
www.soundclick.com/darknessinzero
or...
www.soundcloud.com/darkness-in-zero
Enjoy!

Also, if you are a vocalist, a bassist, or a drummer, I am still looking to fill those positions, so hit me up!

Thanks man!! :D
I went to your fb page, but had issues with the media player...idk if that's just me but others might have the same issue...had to go to your youtube to hear tunes, so you might wanna use that as your link and put tunes up there if others are also having issues streaming tunes ;)
Cheers

Boav 10-05-2011 11:49 AM

Cheers for the heads up man. I think it's just been a bit iffy the past few days, but hopefully the fb page should end up ok.

And thanks for checking the stuff out.

Hey UG!
I just posted a brand new song/video. Below is the youtube link. It is of a new song I wrote, featuring myself and our band's new rhythm guitarist jamming live. It was recorded on my mac's camera, hence the blurry video and funny sounding compression, but it's still a good listen! Also, a sound-only version of the song will be up on the soundcloud page (see sig) soon, so you can listen/download that. Big news coming soon, so I'll keep you all posted! Thanks!!

Darkness in Zero 01-24-2012 10:56 AM

Aight UG, so that youtube video I posted right there ^
It's now on the soundcloud page (below), so you can listen without the sound sucking.
I tried to keep the feel of the live recording...so I just did one drum track dead center and one guitar to each side...one take each...no "pro tooling"...no fixing mistakes...no EQing. It is what it is. Enjoy it!
Also, there's a video up now for one of the older songs, "Unbreakable" which you can find here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wH6J...kJzX-PUf6_yFvR9
The original recording is on the soundcloud.
More videos coming over the next few days

You guys play really tight together. The progressions of the compositions is fitting and flows nicely most of the time! Who would you say your influences are?

I think you might enjoy my band as well, we like technical music, mind checking it out?

It's a pretty expansive list of influences haha. The big ones are the early 2000s metalcore bands, like Killswitch, All that Remains, Lamb of God, and Trivium. NOT the newer bands that are calling themselves metalcore, like Asking Alexandria or Attack Attack.....chugga chugga breakdowns annoy me ALOT.
Lately we've been really getting into this whole so-called "djent" movement...Periphery and TesseracT being the two big ones.
I'll check your band out man.

Sounds pretty good man. Definitely "outside the box" which i like. It's different. Do I hear some Fall of Troy influence in there?

The Spoon 01-27-2012 12:07 PM

Yeah, we're influenced by them, but the new song we just posted is a lot more reminiscent of them at some parts...we don't derive a whole lot of influence from them nowadays, but they definitely were the catalyst to start writing more interesting sounding music.

Yeah, I could tell that you guys are getting into this sorta "djent" movement. A lot of bands moving in that direction tend to overuse the cliches of that style of music, but there are a lot of talented players as well. Your dual guitar vids are more interesting to watch than most bands from that movement, imo.

Not too bad. I can honestly hear the Djent kinda sound in your stuff that you might have done before you were into it. I don't know if you listen to Animals as Leaders, but some of your songs sounded similar to what they do. You've got some excellent technical playing with some interesting rhythms.

If you're into Groove/Thrash Metal, check out my band, Shadow Cell:
http://www.reverbnation.com/shadowcell
We've got some Prog influences, especially in the Bass department.
We're on YouTube Here:

and Facebook here:

I also posted a thread about us here in PYB. ;)

Haha yea, we've started listening to this whole "djent" thing a lot more...I think the Periphery-influence is coming through a lot more lately than with older stuff. Thanks for the Animals as Leaders comment/compliment!! :)

Your stuff sounds pretty good too! Definitely more on the thrashy side of things :headbang:

Darkness in Zero 02-05-2013 01:12 AM

Hey, we just released an instrumental version of one of the songs on our new album! Check it out here ----> http://darknessinzero.bandcamp.com/

Darkness in Zero 02-12-2013 05:59 PM

Here is a video of our drummer messing around over a new tune we are about to record for a local sampler. Oh, and this is like, 3 days after he first got a rough demo of the song.

Also, make sure to get our newest single! (very last post, or you can find it on our facebook)

Enjoy!

Darkness in Zero 03-26-2013 12:11 AM

Haven't posted in awhile, but my band currently has instrumental versions of the first THREE songs off our upcoming album on our bandcamp, free to download (just cuz we love you all so much). So yea. You should listen. I can assure you, we sound just like your favorite artist.
