I was going to post in the existing thread, but it turned out no one made one.

I doubt many who aren't folk metal fans will care much, but Askival is back from the dead.
After a three year hiatus I've decided the time is right to return to this project and start recording a second album. I wasn't entirely sure if I'd ever continue this project as I lost all inspiration to continue it a few years back but I think in the back of my mind I always intended to return to it one day. The ideas are flowing and the demos are currently being recorded. I will hopefully have some news on the new album soon. Thanks for the support!

For those not in the know, the band released their only album 'Eternity' in 2009, and were held in quite high regard by those into their folk metal, and I in particular am a huge fan of it. However to most people's disappointment the band was ended not long after. I guess the sound can be described as sort of atmospheric folk metal.

Very cool band with possibly the coolest band logo ever. I like them quite a bit; never bothered to actually look into Eternity though. Should probably do that eventually.

Awwwww fuck best news. Absolutely love Eternity so I'm gonna be pretty hyped if he's gonna release another album.

Listening to this album right now and playing Dark Souls. **** yes, why did I forget about this album!?!

I have a feeling the album mentioned in the first post isn't happening.
I think instead it's going to be the new project I mentioned in the BM thread

Listening to these clips, both of Askival and └rshaidh. I'm rather impressed.

EDIT: I do prefer those Askival tracks, however.

Been listening to these guys the past little while, I enjoy their sound immensely. Askival I mean.

I think if they all dressed up in leaves and armour, then had a bunch of leaves and trees on stage with a fog machine + giant fan combo, it'd be a great live show. I'd probably cry.

After listening to Saor's Aura today, I went back to Askival's Eternity, and it is such a class album. I really like Andy's work. Sorrow of the Sun is such a phenomenal track.
