Looking for a wah pedal that doesn't suck tone
 

So, my shop has a few wah pedals sitting around; a Hendrix wah, a Vox, and Crybaby. I notice though, that when I plug them into any of our amps, they just seem to suck the tone right out when they're not engaged. So I'm wondering, since I'm in the market for one right now, what wah pedals should I look at that won't be doing this? I imagine this means I'm probably looking for one with true bypass, right?

Oh, budget. I'm not exactly looking to break the bank; let's say $100 American tops, maybe a bit over if I need to. New or used doesn't really matter.

RMC? Fulltone?? I'm personally quite interested in the Jerry Cantrell signature crybaby. Would definetly try

i to maybe in this boat. my wah is pissing me off - lately it has had switching issues and if you are lighting fast of the switch off, it will do this weird in / out thing where i can never tell if my signal is going to cut off or not. its like the switch gets stuck and it didnt always used to be this way.

if i cant resolve it, a new wah will be in order, and it will be true bypass.

vox? budwah? the new classic (vintage fasel thingy) wah, the 535Q, 95Q?

which dunlops wahs are true bypass?

A majority of the signature ones. The Bonamassa wah has a switchable non-true bypass/true bypass. Dats cool. But yeah, a 535Q is the way to go.

RMC or Fulltone used maybe? I just ordered the Dunlop MC404 CAE Wah for $140 new/free shipping, seems to have all the flexibility I need in a wah, dual Fasel inductors, true HW bypass, has built in switchable boost and LEDs to indicate all features on/off. Just what I need to replace my old 535Q (which is not TB). It's about $100 cheaper than a new RMC or Fulltone Clyde.

im a tremontti fan boy so i suggest his signature wah.
i picked mine up from GC for about 60 bucks used.

I'd go for a used Morley Bad Horsie (Steve Vai signature). I find Morleys to be more comfortable since you don't have to press any button or switch to turn them on/off, they just activate when you press the pedal and turn off when you release it. And the Bad Horsie sounds great and is true bypass.

Just get you a crybaby classic with the fasel. Its a solid little wah. And its an easy mody to make it true bypass

Any true bypass wah. From there everything is flavor. I just bought Slash Crybaby Classic other day. Its true bypass. Overpriced, but still awesome.

Maybe try modding one if you feel game or perhaps look at getting a buffer pedal? It also might not be the wah that's the problem. Do you have other pedals?

Ok, just received the CAE wah today...and it is spectacular. Last bit of tone suck (my old 535Q) is now gone and boy does this wah sound great. Really love the switchable inductors and boost. Covers everyone from Hendrix to Slash to Cantrell easily. Crazy good sounding wah and so much cheaper than the high-end competition! Good luck on your search for the perfect wah. Hope this helps.

Another vote for the Morley Bad Horsie 2. Fantastic wah.

Ended up settling on an Ibanez Weeping Demon. Waiting to get it in the mail, thanks for the advice guys.
