50 minutes of free Prog/Shred/Thrash metal - C4C
My newest songs from my forthcoming album "Shattered Shards of a Pieceless Puzzle" are now available. Two demos, that are completely off the wall. Give em a listen, and enjoy the insanity.

About a month ago, I released my debut album "The Seventh Shade of Gray".
It contains 10 songs, with 7 instrumentals and 3 songs with vocals.
Pick any two you want, and let me know what you think! I always appreciate feedback, both good and bad. You can listen/download it at:

There are also 2 other free albums available including "The Lesser Shades of Gray (B-Sides) with bonus tracks "The Thing That Should Not Be", "The Frayed Ends of Sanity", and a little diddy "The Ballad of Stewie Griffin".

If you like what you hear, feel free to find me on Facebook. I always enjoy hearing from fellow UGers!

I don't think I have reviewed "Upon Throne of Power" before (though perhaps I have): Vocals remind me a bit of Metallica (glad it is not growling). Audio quality is very good on everything. Good Zach Wylde-type harmonic squeals. Guitar riffs are good. Sounds pretty heavy, though not too scary for me. Very good for this style of metal. Drums sound good. Can't think of anything to gripe about. I wouldn't be shocked to hear this on the radio. Perhaps you could review my other (second) tune at this link:

Fractured Gaze: Very interesting lead work youve got going on! I like the choice of chord progression, it has an almost Spanish vibe. That drop out part at 2:16 is really cool! I like the use of effects, it adds a really nice layer. It borders on Mr. Bungle-ness, I don't hear that very often lol. Well done with building back up into the heaviness, those riffs are pretty sweet.
Overall this song kind of sounds like Joe Satriani on steroids with some progressive touches, pretty awesome!

Thanks for the review!

A Fractured Gaze: I'm loving the odd time signatures you're using, this reminds me of a band called Spiral Architect which is definitely a good thing. The solo starting at 2:44 is awesome, some sick bends and vibrato, I love that kind of stuff, you could even have kept this slow section going for a bit longer. Some shreddy metal like this kinda bores me because it's just endless soloing, but this on the other hand is just the right mix of tasteful lead playing and interesting riffs and ideas. You definitely have the right idea about how to write an awesome song, and have solos in it that really add to the song rather than being just random riffs for soloing over.

Shattered Shards... Sick riff to kick things off, man your playing is incredible, I wish I could shred like that haha. I think a riff like the one at 2:15 needs to build up to something rather than just having the clean part follow it. Maybe shifting that riff forward in the song and having it build up to a solo would have been better, but then on the other hand I can see the virtue of bringing in the clean part somewhat unexpectedly. I love the strings that come in towards the end and that layering with the guitars is ****ing sweet. Seriously the last minute of so of this song is incredible, you could even have kept it going a bit longer to a fade out, but I know some people don't like fade outs. Nevertheless, both these songs are insanely good, I can see you getting signed to a label in the very near future if you keeping pumping out stuff this good.
