Q. When's the deadline?

A. Probably some time next year. :p:


Q. What kind of music can I submit?

A. Absolutely anything. But, there's a catch: your song has to be atmospheric. You can submit "standard" post-rock, dream pop, shoegaze, post-metal, sludge, doom, atmospheric black metal, atmospheric pop, atmospheric this, atmospheric that. Get it? ^___^


Q. What kind of a file should I submit, and where?

A. I shall require a lossless file, like a FLAC or WAV or AIFF. The FLAC format is preferred because it's the same thing as a WAV or AIFF, but at a smaller size. You can either post your submission in this thread [host it on MediaFire or SoundCloud or DropBox or something], or [and this only applies if you're insecure >_>], you can send me a PM with a link. I shall also require a proper artist name from you; usernames are alright if you modify them to look like an artist name. For example, CoreysMonster can become Corey's Monster; chaoticfables can become Chaotic Fables. This is because quite a few of us use Last.FM to scrobble our music, and seeing usernames all over the place isn't most pleasing.

Important: Due to a massive fuck-up by me, I managed to miss Ometh's song in the planning thread for album #4. As a result, his song wasn't on UGPR 4. This is completely my fault, and this thread onwards, I am going to ensure that this doesn't happen again. From now on, you may only post works in progress in this thread. All final submissions need to be PMed to me. Please don't forget, this is very important. If you fail to send me your submission through PM, there is a chance that I may miss it, and as a result, it won't be on the album. So, post as many WIPs as you like, but please DO NOT FORGET TO PM ME YOUR FINAL SUBMISSION.



If you have any other questions, post in the thread, and I'll answer to the best of my ability.

I'm serious this time, I'll get one of my post rock-ish ideas out. The 4th album is currently giving me inspiration.

I only have provision to record bass, so if anyone wants any bass recording for this, hit me up.

It's a fiver, but it's strung EADGC rather than BEADG. I'd be a little loathe to change it up as I do a lot of work in that tuning :p:

Never mind, then. I'm sure some of the other guys will need some grooves from you.

Of course I'll do a song, might not be "Best Kept Secret" though, but we'll see. Maybe I can do a BKS recording session over winter break.

I'll contribute a song from my (atmospheric) black metal project when I finally get one finished. That might not be for like 12 years at this rate though.

Alright, that makes sense.

Like I said in the release thread, I'm gonna record the rest of the songs and release them here. Is that okay? I suck at promoting things, and I don't have much friends or a life basically lol, so I was thinking about releasing the 4 songs on the next album. They all add up to roughly half an hour.

Also, any bassplayers interested in recording some basstracks for me? The tuning is C#, and I would give you the full permission to mess around with the basstracks and make them your own. There's even a song with a slap break you could work on!
The basstracks are on the first link in my sig: they are in both GP5 and GPX format, so I guess there won't be any problems there.

EDIT: I read hriday's reply in the planning thread, and from what I could get, there's a song limit? If there is that's not good, because I'm not great at choosing things :(
