Hey guys. So, this is an idea we kicked around a bit during the planning for the Acoustic Covers II album. Basically ya'll's music and compile it together into a little showcase.

Okay, rules are as follows:

• Original songs only
• Try to stay under the 10 minute mark. Lotta people already after one day.
• Have fun with it. If you're not having fun, I dunno. Track some kazoo or something.
• Duedate TBD. Plan for something late January/early February. (How does February 17th sound?)

As a general rule, if you can't play it or find someone to play it, don't add it in. If you can't play flute, don't que up your best flute model. MAke a friend, go on a quest, or drop the flute altogether.

With this in mind, know that I'm willing to budge a bit when it comes to modelled pianos. I know not everyone has access to an acoustic one or a reliable way to record one in a quiet studio. Everything else, however, should be recorded acoustically.

I'm game, it'll keep me from procrastinating from my folk album I've been trying to write.

When's the deadline?

Still trying to get this up and running, of course. As soon as I see enough interest in subs I'll figure out a deadline. Plan for something around January-February, to take advantage of school breaks and such.

Sounds great, plenty of time for procrastination.

I have one song in mind I want to cover anyway. Probably this will motivate mo to learn it :)

Does it have to be new material just for this album?

And if so can a rerecording of something else original count?

I'm up for this. I've gotta song on the go, have the chorus written so just need to figure out the verses.

Actually this. I have songs to contribute already, but I can write a new tune too. It doesn't matter.

If you wanna write a brand new tune for it, that's cool. An acoustic version of a full-on original is kickin' too, if you wanna do that. The idea is just to break out of the acoustic covers mould for a bit, get some community originals out there. I know there are tons of great storytellers and songwriters in the forums, and it'd be nice to get everyone on an album together.

I have a solid cohesive album full of material that I think is good, but I'm not very good at recording/mixing/whatever the **** I'd have to do to make it sound nice and listenable. Would be willing to give it a go if you boys need more volunteers.

Oh yeah. Worst case scenario, record and give someone stems or, if they use the same DAW, the project file.
