Retraining picking hand
Is there a way to retrain the fingers on my picking hand? Whenever I play, my pinky always curls up like it's going to make a fist, and it looks really ugly to me. My ring finger does this to some extent too, but it's not quite as bad. If there's an exercise or some other way I can retrain then to start straight or at least relatively straight, please let me know

Is it uncomfortable? Is it causing you pain? Is it adversely affecting your playing/sound/tone? Or do you simply want to change it because it "looks ugly"?

If it looks ugly from your perspective, it doesn't necessarily look ugly to the audience. Try recording yourself and see if it looks ugly.

If so, the best exercise is playing. Just play with your hand stretched, it will retrain over time (depends on how much you play).

I would say do NOT play with your hand (oh dear lords...) stretched out. The normal way of holding the pick needs the extra support of the three other fingers. Try out the Paul Gilbert approach, sort of like a half closed fist, but then you fan out the fingers that aren't busy holding the pick. That way I feel like I can hold the pick without dropping it or anything while you still can keep it close enough to the strings.
