Question about necks and trems

I was looking around at guitar fetish and two things caught my eye:

First, this bridge: http://www.guitarfetish.com/Wilkins...rome_p_895.html

Can anyone explain how it will work? Unless Im just too tired or too dumb, I cant really figure out what GF is saying when referring to how this trem is installed and how it will look. It looks like a quality bridge for my dean strat project that doesnt cost too much and its universal.

Second, I like the warehouse sale GF has going on. I was wondering about the necks. If it has the same scale length, but is one or two mm off on the heel and one more fret, will it work on my guitar? I am sure I can sand the heel down to fit. Also, how hard is it to install a nut? I can take it to my guitar tech if it I need a special tool or something.

That trem is just a cheap 2-point trem. They were saying that you can install the posts on a vintage 6-point trem by drilling out the 2 outer screw holes and installing the studs. Cheap Wilkinsons are not beloved trems, many people change them out for the Gotoh made Wilkinsons. You can get the Gotoh version of that trem, the VS100, for $100 at stewmac.com, and I think I've seen them even cheaper on other sites or eBay.

AS for the neck thing, sanding down the heel is iffy. If you have to sand away a lot to make it fit, you'll have a pretty gnarly fretboard overhang. My advice, since you are changing out so much of the guitar, is to sell it and buy a body to go with the neck, rather than trying to hack it into something else.

The thing is, I like the body, but the neck could be better. I can live with the stock neck though. So you would recommend the Gotoh version? I will probably block it, so does it even matter if I replace the trem? Will a higher quality sound better or stay in tune better?

If you're gonna block it, then it really doesn't matter much, imo. A higher quality trem might sound better, but is it worth the extra moeny to find out? Maybe search google for someone with experience in Gotoh trems as I have none(outside of Ibanez). I don't think really need to block it, just add more spring tension to pull it against the body(assuming you have a strat).

What is it that you don't like about your neck?

Its just no as comfortable as my ibanez. It feels "cheaper".
