Lefty Guitar? or right handed guitar

I'm playing a right-handed guitar which I converted to lefty.
like paul mccartney.. or kurt cobain.)
It looks fine but I'm not sure about the sound.
it's really cheep guitar, so it originally may not sounds very good.

so, I'm looking for my new guitar, but I don't really know should I get
a lefty guitar or right handed guitar which I can convert to left-handed.

Recording King RD-06 Lefty looks great.
and many epiphone models look great too.
actually there's so many great guitars in right-handed. I think
so please give me advise.......

thanks..

(my english is really bad... sorry)

If possible, get the lefty versions... If not, converting a standard to a lefty should be OK as long as you get it a setup, not just switch the strings.

get a lefty........ "look great" is not key to a guitar purchase

You're absolutely, positively 100% wrong. I've played guitar left handed for close to 50 years, so I do get to say that.

The only guitars that come close to being truly "flippable", are pure classical instruments.

1: Because they have no intonation slant in the bridge.

Traditional classicals are only "12 fret guitars. (The body joins the neck at the 12 fret), so the issue of poor intonation doesn't come into play.

Anything else you try and reverse, is going to be pure Mickey Mouse. If only for the fact the side position marker dots, will now be on the bottom of the neck.

And before you say anything, Hendrix probably did it because people mostly had to, in that day and age. Plus, he was stoned most of the time.

The situation of not being able to find left handed guitars is nowhere near as bad as in times past.

So, do not buy a right handed guitar! Someday, perhaps even with this purchase, you may want an acoustic electric model. When you flip most of those, you wind up with the cutaway on top, and the preamp controls on the bottom, big mess. Many times, even strap buttons have to be moved.

For advice, see above.....! ;)

One thing though, Epiphones do look great but, in reality they're far removed from it.

That depends. If English is your first language, then yes, you're correct.

If English is a 2nd language for you, it's not that bad.

Note: I notice you're from Ireland. I fear your version of English might upset the queen a tad. :haha:

In any event, there are many places in the UK who sell , even specialize, in left handed guitars. These guys for example: http://www.lefthandbear.com/index.asp

You're probably aware of Thomann, but here's a link just in case you're not: http://www.thomann.de/ie/index.html...c6a313b4a729bae

You won't be able to find every guitar you fancy in a left hand model. But, I guarantee you will find something you'll be happy with.

Besides, it's a blessing in being a lefty. Right handers will all surely run out of money, long before they are able to buy every guitar they want.

So, why don't you tell us how much you'd like to spend, and we'll try and help you shop... :)

I can spend for 200~400.
I want to get a lefty as far as possible. but it's not that easy to find rhight one. :D
