mp3 player..which of the two?

Creative Mozaic

Or

Sony NWZ A865.

I need a new..quite cheap..mp3 player.

They're both 16 gb..which is enough for me.

I was jsut wondering, what does the Pit think is the best..in regards to price/sound quality, software quality, player quality etc.

And if there are any better ones for a smilar price..let me know!

Also..sound quality is the most important thing.

Get the cheaper one.

That would be the creative.

The price difference is like..30 euros.

But if the sony, for that price..has better quality..lasts more, has better sound I'd gladly get that one.

I personally would go with the Sony. Fantastic sound quality, great interface, good value. Can't say much for the battery life though, I've only given it a test use. I nearly bought the 32Gb version of that one (if I remember the name of it correctly) but ended up getting a Cowon J3 instead.

Creative have gone down in quality I think in recent years. If you want to spend a bit more and get a really high quality MP3 player I encourage you to look up Cowon.

ipod

I used to lurk a audiophile forum a bit and they loved their Creatives. I dunno if Mosaic was part of that or not though.

They were also crazy obsessed with Cowon but they aren't cheap. They were a lot more than an iPod touch when I was thinking about them.

Don't be a poor hipster. Get an ipod.

Hydra150 10-12-2012 03:19 PM

Don't you need iTunes to use an iPod? Fuck that.

Somekid94 10-12-2012 03:21 PM

If you can, find a Sandisk Sansa Fuze. They're usually on Amazon. DO NOT get the Fuze+. The Fuze+ sucks gigantic monkey ass imho.

I still don't want to.

I'd go with the Sony. I have the NWZ A866 (the 32GB one) and it's great. Excellent sound quality, easy to use and pretty lightweight too. Only gripe I have is that the battery life is quite short, but it doesn't bother me that much.

strat0cast3r 10-12-2012 04:47 PM

Shed a couple more bucks & get am Ipod, you'll be happy you did when it's still working in a few years.

Saint78 10-12-2012 04:50 PM

One time I bought an mp3 player for $4. It was brand new, but you couldn't change the volume. You should get one of those.

vince1991 10-12-2012 05:11 PM

i have the mozaic for 3 years now and it's still working fine. can't compare the sound quality since i never used sony mp3 players, but i think it depends mostly on the ear-buds. the stock ones that came with it were pretty crap tho if i remember correctly.

can't complain about the battery life. last year it held me sane on a 10 hour long flight. i had studio headphones plugged into it, and it still had a half full battery after landing

edit : forgot to mention, (nude)pictures and (porn)movies also have an acceptable quality for an mp3 player

Or not. The last two ipods I got started developing vertical lines across the screen after a year of use, and apple has been known to build in artificial redundancy into their batteries.

archenemyfan 10-12-2012 05:18 PM

Get an iPod. It's worth the upgrade.

And this is coming from a galaxy S3 user. iPod nano and classic are undoubtedly the best products apple makes.

Hydra150 10-12-2012 06:29 PM

What's so much better about an iPod?
