Modding an Agile 8 string
Picked up this a while back..

The stock pickups are pretty crappy so I've decided to replace them. I've been looking at getting an EMG 808x and a Lungdren M8 installed into the neck. Just wondering if this will actually work, with them being two different brands. Probably a stupid question but eh

I see no reason why it wouldn't work. Though you may want to ditch the stupid quick connect stuff that the EMG is using, that's just personal preference there though really.

The biggest problem you'll have is that the 808x is an active pickup, and it appears the M8 is passive. There is discussion on mixing actives and passives in the Pickup Thread (

EDIT: The active/passive mixing is in the wiring thread ( not the pickup thread.

I recommend getting full EMG set. The lundgren M model pickups sound awesome, but imo still require a lot more tweaking from your amp than EMG:s to get a clear, nice tight tone on distortion.

Do EMG808s need active routing like the 707s and 81-7s?

If they do, you're better off getting Dimarzio 8 string pups (They make a D-Activator 8) or Seymour Duncan (8 string Blackouts) or, like you said, the Lundgren M8s.
