Do you binge?

Binge drinking, quite a common thing in University and highschool, is quite bad for your health and is a step into becoming an alcoholic.

Do you do it?

I tend to get my binge on, on occasion. woops.

daytripper75 10-18-2012 09:18 PM

Define binge.

I'd say no, but I'm not sure what the exact definition of binge drinking would be. What amount are we talking? With what frequency?

binge drinking is drinking in a short period of time to get drunk/intoxicated.

Not necessary a frequency thing.

Then I guess not.

If I drink and get drunk, it's usually over the course of several hours.

Kyleisthename 10-18-2012 09:25 PM

Lol, drinking to get drunk.
Binge drinking would be getting drunk for more than one day straight.

Now, I drink err night so I say I do binge.
but it's only for a week or so at a time.

every time I get my hands on alcohol I drink way more than I should have

ChamsRock 10-18-2012 09:27 PM

I binge drink almost everything besides alcohol, but I don't binge alcohol. Never plan to.

BornToLooze 10-18-2012 09:29 PM

I don't binge, more like a steady stream of alcohol.

I binge on TV series.

Breaking Bad, season 1-4, 46 episodes, hour each: finished in 4 days
Mad Men, season 1-5, 65 episodes, hour each: finished in 5 days
Arrested Development, season 1-3, 53 episodes, 1/2 hour each: finished in 3 days

I'm basically reluctant to watch any new TV shows now.

I drank until I was unconscious every night of my first year of university- after a while I started having to do it in the morning and afternoon as well to keep away the horrible anxiety and physical ticks that came from not being drunk. I also started experiencing hallucinations, sleep paralysis and frequent suicidal episodes.

After failing my first year I got my act together and cut down on my alcohol intake- it was usually over 100 UK units a week.

To be honest, if you've just gone off to university and you're getting into that lifestyle, just try to keep it to a minimum. It costs so much money to get drunk and go out all the time, in a year or two you will look back and seriously regret it. Like the other guys said, after a while you start to experience the long term effects, and it's not enjoyable.

Nelshizzle 10-18-2012 09:45 PM

I actually don't. I keep my whits about me because most of the time I need to drive home, and or I have no idea who the **** most of the people around me are.

I'm a beer drinker and I stay away from hard liquors as well. I get nice and happy drunk with the ability to still speak to others coherently. I never get shit faced. I honestly do not see the appeal for it. It's dangerous and you end up just embarrassing yourself.

I was a weed binger though. I'd pass the **** out and not remember how I woke up on my pile of clothes for laundry day.

I guess I technically do binge drink, but I'm not worried about it.

I drink only on the weekends, but it is practically every Friday and Saturday. I view it as any other recreational drug; others smoke weed to get high, I drink to get drunk. That said, getting drunk isn't the end goal, it's just a means that enhances the end of having a good time with friends.
