Electric guitar players, IN NEED OF YOUR HELP! UNI SURVEY
Hi,
I am a student at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), where I am working on a project regarding guitar effect pedals. As a consequence, I am in need of people with your expertise to answer a short survey. I would be really grateful if you took the time to answer it. The survey is most relevant to people with effect pedal/effect box experience. It will take approximately 3 minutes, 40 seconds and 4 hundredths :) Click here for the survey! Regards, Sigurd G-J |
I know it's probably splitting hairs, but for question 11, would you include fuzz in distortion/OD or other?
|
Thank you so much for your response so far!
@Pink Muse - Sorry, but it is a bit late now to add this. However, you are not the only one who has commented on this, and it will definitely be taken into account. |
Uh, Clapton of course. I love Mayer. Great player. And great tone. But Clapton. All day everyday
|
I took your survey...hope I don't skew your results too much! :D

In question 11 should i put EQ and gate in other? they arn't really classed ass effects but should i put them in anyway since they are my most used pedals?
|
Did it but a couple of your questions are a little too broad in my opinion: both storing of presets and price depends entirely on what the effect actually is. I don't care about storing presets on a distortion/OD/fuzz pedal but I care a lot if it's something like a delay or reverb.
Price is another question entirely, depends on the type of effect and exactly which make/model it is. I wouldn't pay more than £40 for a Boss DS-1 but for a Suhr Riot I'd be willing to pay a hell of a lot more. For something like a delay or looper that changes again because the make and model don't matter as much as the features do... Try and factor things like that in to your analysis later, they're very important. |

I think he was using price as a stand-in for brand quality, as opposed to distinguishing between effects types. IOW, that question gives him data on the relative sizes of the markets for Boss' pedals (and those of other big name makers) in general versus makers up the price scale, like Suhr. |

Took it.

Done and done.

"Is it a quality statement that a product is Norwegian?"
I put "don't know" becuase I'm not sure I understand the question. Otherwise, I completed it to the best of my ability. |
Done.
Decent survey. One issue though; the amount of money that i'm willing to spend on a pedal depends on how much i like the effect and what the effect does. |
