2 pickup Melody Makers

There is a two pickup Gibson melody maker with case on craigslist right now for 400, is that a good deal, and how well built are they?

Not a great deal, they go for around 500 bucks if I remember correctly...
They're supposed to be decent enough, actually. Not great by any means, but decent. Try it out and see what you think.

no steal of a deal, not by any means. the guitars can easily be found for close to $500 new, so $400 for a private sale one isn't a good deal.

as far as quality goes, they aren't about to compete with "real" Gibsons. however, as far as a $500 guitar goes, they're actually quite good. play one and see what you think. I'm not a huge fan, I like substantial feeling guitars, but I know a couple guys who own them and love them

no that is nopt a good deal at all. You can get a Gibson faded SG special for <$400 all day long. I actualy saw a double cut MM with 2 pickups for $399 new a while back at Sam Ash

I played the $300 one pickup Melody Maker when it first came out. Great guitar, but I don't think another pickup warrants $400, especially when you could get a used Studio or Faded Gibson for a similar price.

I totaly agree with this. It also has the normal Gibson headstock and not the Melody Maker one.
