Gibson Reviews Gone?
 

I could be posting this in the wrong spot I kept flip flopping between here and The Pit but I figured The Pit just wasn't serious enough place for this topic. I strive myself to provide unbiased reviews of any guitars or gear that I own or use for an extended period of time. It generally takes me a while to write up a review as I like them in depth as if I were trying to learn about the product I own; however I digress, I did a review on the Gibson Explorer geesh probably a year ago now and I noticed as of this morning it was gone from my contribution list, then I searched Explorer got no Gibson hits in the reviews, figured hey this is weird as there was more then my review. Then I searched for Les Paul and to my surprise not a single review came up. Does anyone know if Gibson has told UG to remove all reviews or something? If you search Gibson in reviews it comes back with pretty much nothing, tres weird.

Its there, my review is still there, but it says it was removed today in my contribution list, this is why you don't do wake 'n bakes kids! Not really caring I dropped in contributors but I would like to be recognized for my contributions :haha:

Hmm, my SG Classic review has dissappeared as well. That is weird.

Unfortunately contacting mods isn't as accessible as on other forums so I've reported this post, not as bad, but to flag the whole issue to one of the mods for answers.

Weird! Gibson isn't even an option in G; but, the top of the page shows a Gibson Classic and the review is there.

Just noticed that Gibson has been removed from the manufacturers list if you go to electric guitar gear reviews. Curious...

I wouldn't be surprised if they asked for them to be taken down. Gibson are bastards for no reason.

BULLDOOKEY! Gibson has no control over MLP and isn't even a sponsor.
Why would any company ask to have reviews removed? I think it's more likely a system error or maybe a hacker that's done this.
Hopefully we hear soon, if it's become UG policy to exclude Gibson for reviews/discussions (which I highly doubt) then I'll be clearing out my profile.

This. I cannot think of a single reason why Gibson would ever take the reviews down. If anything, it promotes the brand.

I don't use the site very often, but the last time I went there, the MIJ classifieds were gone and there was a note saying that you can't sell them anymore. They had a thread about it in the other les paul section as well.

that is just not true. all they were doing is cracking down on the replicas that say "gibson" on the headstock. the mij guitars were never affected. people all freaked out but we kept buying burny, tokais and grecos like they were cotton candy.

yeah everybody read into that and guess what. you can post any MIJ you want in the classifieds.

the mods clarified this in the MIJ section after they banned that nutjob pfcstupidasshole whatever his name was.

replicas that say "gibson" on the headstock are not allowed. that's all this was about because jhun?? had a replica trade go south on him and there was miles of butthurt over it. that was all it took for alex to not allow the replicas.

it's all over now, MIJ guitars were not affected because they don't say "gibson" on the headstocks trust me. the MIJ crowd was all over it and we had a party with sushi.
