Talking to Strangers
 

Although the Pit does feature a small-but-vocal group of Alpha++ males, it's safe to say that a significant percentage of The Pit has difficulty engaging in social interactions.

I challenge you (yes, You™) to start a conversation with a stranger during the course of the next week, beginning Monday November 19th. Post results in this thread.

I don't suffer from anxiety, but I do find it difficult to start conversations. I feel like I have nothing to say, or at least to begin with that will get the ball rolling. We'll see how it goes.

Feel free to explain why this is a bad idea.

You could make it more interesting. Like, you have to approach 10 strangers in a day, and maintain conversation for a certain time limit. And they have to be girls, unless you're gay or a girl yourself in which case they have to be hot young studs.

And you have to wear a fedora.

I talk to new people everyday at work.

Are they strangers if we see them all the time and kinda know eachother but never actually talk to them? Cause I'm cool with that, but someone I've never seen before? I never even have a chance do do that even if I wanted to.

I talk to strangers almost every single day. It's in my job description.

I sort of just did a few hours ago, though I guess he started it. I was at Rite-Aid applying for job and this guy saw me and said "you know the place I work is hiring" and I said thanks and asks where he works and one thing led to another and apparently we both have a few mutual friends.

I'm flattered that you think I have razor-sharp wit, but I'd probably just scare them away with my spaghetti. But you know what fuck it, i'll try.
