How?
I was on a Phil X video where he plays his viper and he did this thing where he does... something and moves the guitar forward and it lowers the tone like a whammy bar. I'm probably being an idiot but I have no idea what he's doing. Phil X does it a couple of times on this link at 8:42...
Thanks for any help :) |
He's bending the neck forward, that reduces the tension on the strings and lowers the pitch.

+1. I wouldn't recommend you make a habit of this, or do it vigorously. |
What do you mean "bending the neck forward"? Can you do it on any guitar??

You literally push the neck forward so it physically bends away from you. You can indeed do it on any guitar but as said above, I personally wouldn't recommend you actually do it; there are other, better ways of getting the same sound in my opinion. |
Someone made a thread about Slash doing this a few days ago. Someone very rightly mentioned the time Slash tried to do this and snapped the neck right off of his guitar. You can do it, but it's really not good for the instrument, especially if you do it a lot

That guy...is a complete bell-end.
