Let's hear your accent!

Inspired by the "Your favorite accent on the opposite sex" thread.

Here is mine. I don't think it's particularly special but people tend to like my accent speaking either English, Spanish, German or French. I don't speak anything other than English fluently though. But if you want, I suppose I could speak something in another language for you if you wish.

By the way, forgot to say, just record yourself using the website linked above. It's simple, straightforward, and sounds surprising satisfactory.

80% English, 20% New Zealand

Amuro Jay 11-26-2012 03:51 AM

i'd do this if i had the space to record myself without waking someone up

rockingamer2 11-26-2012 03:53 AM

I can't hear much of an accent on you.

Haha 100% kiwi. Fush n' chups bru.

Odd blend of English and Australian for me. I'd rather do it with a sample sentence to read off.

We had a contest for best accent about a year ago. Unfortunately, I got temp-banned before I could record my entry.

Unfortunate for everyone else...

But really I have the classic Central North American accent, extra enunciated, i.e. the generic "American" accent that newscasters strive for.

I do, somewhat deliberately, change my accent depending on who I'm talking to sometimes to make myself sound more like a dumbass simpleton.

You haven't heard a brutal accent until you've been to the north coast of Labrador (Canada in case you didn't know). I don't have a recording but take my word on it

EDIT: Erik's voice is far more manly than I was anticipating and Nelsean, I pray to Jeebus that isn't your real voice.

while we're on the subject, I kinda wanna see what a year of living in the midwest has done to my accent. I know that in words like Chicago where I used to pronounce the "a" like in "car" i now pronounce more like "ah" rather than "aw", if you know what I mean.

idk
