How to relax hands?

I've noticed that when im playing, there is a lot of tension in both hands and both arms.

how do i get rid of it?

Slow down. It doesn't matter how much that is by, just slow down until you can really control what you're doing.

In general, or when using certain techniques?

just in general... in other words, im not playing "loosely"

for strumming, keep your wrist relaxed. for everything else, including strumming, if you're tensing up then you're playing too fast.

the key word here, is "control", which is what Zaph said. you need to be in complete control. because if you're in complete control, then you'll be relaxed, which means no tension will occur.

control = relaxation = no tension

Breathe.

Practice playing slow, then you'll develop a comfortability and relax your hand/wrist

I think the best way try putting them in steam, with a boiling pot of water and let the steam go through your hands. Then use exotic oils and the'll feel relaxed.

Just practice a lot but slowly, take better sitting positions and just relax. Try using some oils too. Don't get too tensed up and just keep your wrists relaxed. :)
