Help me find information about this Vantage bass?
I have pictures now. They're at the bottom of the post. :)
------------------------------------------------------------- Hello! I am currently borrowing a Vantage fretless bassguitar from a friend. I want to buy it, but we have no idea what it would be worth. Google gave me nothing, even after a wide variety of searches, so I come to you, Pit. I can't get pictures, but I will do my best to describe it. The brand is Vantage, which is written clearly on the headstock. It is all black, except for the name on the headstock, which is written in white. It has 3 volume knobs. It has 4 strings, and it's fretless. It says it's made in Japan, on the thing that bolts the neck to the body. The shape is like a strat. That's all I can think of. I hope you can help me. :) EDIT: I have pictures now. :) EDIT2: I have no idea how that one picture got so big. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

There's a number by the "made in Japan" thing. Is this the serial number? The number is "F500396". |

This thread is now about japanese bass guitars.
![]() Yes, I've got one of these. Edit: It seems a bass like yours was sold for £100 some time ago. That's all I can find. |

Me granddad found it at a flea market, got it for under £20 I'm sure. Made in the Matsumoku factory sometime between '85 and '86. Rather shitty condition, ancient strings which I can't be arsed to change, terrible to play on. Nice sound, though. Instead of having one pickup at the bridge and one at the neck, this only has one, which you can slide. |

Source? I'd like to see that. :p: |
Google images. :haha:
