Favorite Films of 2012
So what is everbody's top five films of 2012? I'm thinking about leaving this up for a few days, and then creating a poll, with top five five choices.
Scoring system like so: 5 points for #1 4 points for #2 ect. This is kinda' hard because I haven't seen all the movies that I would like to have seen that came out this year, but I figure if I didn't see it within the year, well I reckon it don't gonna' count. So me first: 1. Argo 14 2. Moonrise Kingdom 23 3. Lincoln 9 4. Killing Them Softly 2 5. Killer Joe 3 EDITS- Looper 17 Premium Rush 3 The Dark Knight Rises 14 Silver Linings Playbook 6 Perks of Being a Wallflower 14 Django Unchained 6 The Grey 2 Prometheus 8 The Master 10 Life of Pi 6 Sleepwalk with Me 1 Skyfall 14 The Hobbit 23 Chicken With Plums 5 Anna Karenina 4 Hitchcock 3 The Woman in Black 2 Les Miserables 1 Cabin in the Woods 5 Holy Motors 4 Wreck it Ralph 8 The Avengers 22 The Amazing Spiderman 7 Judge Dredd 3D 3 Rust and Bone 2 End of Watch 1 Seven Pyschopaths 5 The Raid 4 |
I liked Looper.
Oh, and The Dark Knight Rises. No list though. Because screw you, I do what I want. |
Silver Linings Playbook
Perks of Being a Wallflower Django Unchained Life of Pi The Grey The Dark Knight Rises Prometheus Sleepwalk With Me Lincoln Beasts of the Southern Wild I recommend Silver Linings to everyone. It is such a great movie Edit: Also: Cabin in the Woods Wanderlust Safety Not guaranteed Magic Mike Cloud Atlas Flight |
There are like 4 movies I care about, none of them are from this year and two of them are different takes on the same book.

A lot of porn

The perks of being a wall flower. Cried throughout it, great adaptation of the book (albeit different (Sam had no green eyes..:( )), shame it wasn't longer. Hoping for directors extended edition alas lord of the rings style with and extra hour hahaha.
My list: Perks of being a wallflower. Moonrise kingdom. Prometheus (why the f$ck didn't they run to the side instead of letting it fall on them..?) Sorry for not adding more, I went and watched a shit load of movies I missed out on in the passed decade. All those hidden gems. I saw dark knight rises, it was ok, would say its the top 3 though. And moonrise kingdom didn't catch me like Andersons previous work, but that'd be my second choice. |
No order
The Hobbit Django Unchained Skyfall Argo Lincoln Dark Knight Rises Silver Linings Playbook The HUnger Games The Avengers Life of Pi Prometheus Looper I know I've seen other things, but I can't think of any :/ |
For those not placed in order, I have been scoring them as they were chronologically written within the post. So. . . . . yeah.

I haven't seen many this year but I was really surprised to find that The Perks of Being a Wallflower was a brilliant film. Expected it to be one of those bland, overdone movies but it turned out that I really got into it. My friends felt the same way.
Oh and The Hobbit was good but it would be, I mean it's The Hobbit. So, my list: The Perks of Being a Wallflower The Hobbit |

That's because its based on a widely renowned book. It was directed by the writer funnily enough so yeah. |
I haven't seen very many movies from this year, but I'll say that The Hobbit, The Avengers and Amazing Spider-Man are great and I'm having a love hate relationship with Dark Knight rises. I totally forgot that Perks of Being a Wallflower ever happened, so now I'll have to see that. I once turned a line from the book into a song lyric that became the basis of a three part concept song.

Top 5:
Cabin in the Woods Holy Motors Wreck-It Ralph Killer Joe Moonrise Kingdom Runner Up: The Hobbit |
Cabin in the Woods is from 2011, isn't it?
And I forgot about Wreck-It Ralph. That was great |
Nope. 2012.
