Happy Birthday Bowie, enjoy the new single!

Thought I'd share this here, Bowie released a new single "Where are we now?" today for his 66th birthday!

Correct title is 'Magic Dance'

You know, pedantry really turns my crank.

I also liked Ashies to Ashies, Major Thom and Let Us Dance.

Allo Allo Spaceboy is best song, though.

Tarsplitter 01-08-2013 09:47 AM

I really like it (and I'm not just saying that because I feel I have to). I also like the video.

Hopefully this means a tour!

Yeah, it really feels and sounds like Bowie and that's what I really like about it.

Reminds me of on of his other forgettable songs.

I'm actually a big fan and seen him 3 times, including station to station tour when I was little (my first concert MLG TO). I really like when he sings with power, the timbre of his voice is excellent, unfortunately he doesn't in this song or any new songs I've heard

Absolutely.

It's so minimalistic, and quite seems to rely on the vocals... which I do like. And, that's very impressive for a performer of his age; older artists tend to be timid when it comes to vocal work, but he takes an honest, front-and-centre approach with this single. I eagerly await hearing the whole album. :)

It sounds strange, but it almost feels... 'age appropriate' as well. Bowie has always been on the cusp of most things (everything?) musically, but I like how he seems to have settled down into his own space... reflective and poignant.
