Audition Piece Order: Best to Worst or Best for last?
Im making an Audition DVD. What is the best order for the pieces?
Best 2nd Best 3rd Best 4th Best or 2nd Best/Best 3rd Best 4th Best Best/2ne Best (End on a strong note.) Thanks a lot guys. |
I don't think it really matters, in fact, this is probably the least important thing about an audition, but I would go with 2 3 4 1. Start and end with good pieces.

Put the best first deffinately. You don't want them to get bored after 30 seconds and not listen to your best pieces.
|
I'd say put the best piece first. First impressions are what sticks, usually.
Good luck with the audition, by the way! |
Id design it like a setlist. Start with something strong, not your strongest, end with the strongest.
For 4 songs id go 2nd best worst 2nd worst Best |
Why are you giving out a demo with crap on it?
Edit: Perhaps that was a bit harsh. What I'm saying is that if you think you could do better, do better. If you must have "worse" ones, put the best first because people are unlikely to continue listening if they don't like it. |
I have to agree with AlanHB. Your audition CD should contain nothing but your best work. Even if you start off with your second best and end with your best, you still have this crap donut in the middle.

haha well its not really 'crap' its just not as mature as the other pieces are
Thanks guys |
