Subway sued over 11 inch footlong
Subway lawsuit article
Tl;dr People are suing Subway for over $5 million for selling Footlong sandwiches that only measure 11 inches. To which I have to say: ******s. You're suing a chain restaurant for an inch of sandwich. Get a bloody life. |
No, your suing because you've been mid-sold to.
|
lololololololololololol
Seriously, I like subway and their hoagies are cheap for being a foot. Or 11 inches :haha: I wonder if the lawyer was really taking that seriously, I couldn't say what he said without laughing |
Hey an extra inch can make all the difference. ( ͡͡ ° ͜ʖ ͡ °)
|
So that means subway owes me 112 inches of sub. The bastards
|
they use frozen sticks of dough that they thaw out, proof, and bake. it's not gonna be the same every single time, these people don't deserve the money at all
|
Haha I work for them and when I heard about this I measured what we bake the bread in and they always have been 11 inches...pretty bad when in the UK 11 inches costs at least £5 :/ I hate the company I work for.
|
It's only an inch? You won't die of starvation.

Why? you get the same amount of meats and cheeses whether the bread is puffy or not |
Anyone who thinks that's what a sandwich should taste like deserves to be ripped off.

HA HA!!!! I see what you did there |

I hate the mindset that a lot of (American) people seem to have that suing anyone and everyone for every thing ever is the solution.

I don't know about you, but I think it pretty much sucks though that I have been denied an inch every time I went there in the last 5 years. |

It's an inch of overpriced sandwich, why is that worth fighting over? |

HURR DURR DERP. |
From the article:
"This is no different than if you bought a dozen eggs and they gave you 11 or you bought a dozen doughnuts and they gave you 11," said attorney Tom Zimmerman, who is representing Buren. "Here, you bought a dozen inches of sandwich and you got less than 11. It's no different, and yet you're paying for 12." It might seem petty, but if they're systematically misselling products, then yeah they have right to pursue legal action. Big chains always try to cut down to save on costs (1 inch per sandwich makes an entire bread saved per 12 sold), but if they're specifically calling these footlong sandwiches... If you go into a shop and they promise you 12 of something and you say "erm... you've only given me 11" the reply "don't be so petty, it's only 1 more" wouldn't really be acceptable. You'd say "I know, but that's what you advertised and that's what I paid for..." EDIT: Of course though, 5 million is a ridiculous amount to sue for. |
