Are pit bulls naturally vicious to humans or is it due to bad owners?
 

IF as a pit bull owner or a regular person, you show fear to a pit bull, will it naturally attack you? Any pit bulls owners know? :)

I have a pit bull that was thrown out of a car alongside the road, we found her with a rope around her neck, and she isn't vicious in the slightest. In fact, she's timid.

My mom is a dog trainer so I have quite a bit of experience with this topic.

It's the dumbass neglectful owner.

These poor dogs are ****ing BANNED in Ontario (to a degree, not totally) because idiots don't understand that the breed has almost nothing to do with their viscousness, it has a lot to do with how they're brought up. I mean these dogs are naturally aggressive to a degree, but only when provoked to be that way.

If you're a good owner, your dog will be a ****ing sweetheart. If you treat your dog like shit or train it to be a certain way, it will be that way. This is not limited to any breed. You could train a Shitzu to be a little ****er, just like you could train a pitbull.

I dunno. I don't care, but they freak me the shit out.

To stay on-topic, lets start with a Pit Bull puppy.

Like any dog, pit bulls are born with a potential for violence, it's just that pit bulls also have the build to back up that potential, but also like any dog, with the right training and raising techniques they can make great family pets.
We've had pit-bulls, bull-terriers and bull-terrier crosses, each one was a little hard work at first, (because that's just what puppies are like) and each one had it's own personality, but every one of them turned out to make great adult dogs.

I dunno, my guess is owners. But let's all talk about how not vicious them pet cats are.
Pretty non-vicious, those pet cats are I tell you.
It sure is great having a non-vicious cat inside the house.

Though some are evil.

It is due to owners, unfotunately due to dogfighting and lethal attacks, a stigma has attached to them that leads the public to believe they are predispositioned to be agressive. Being an animal lover I can tell you that this is far from the truth and they in fact make great pets.

Some dog breeds will always have more potential for violence than others.
