melody vs chops
 

7 billion notes a second over power chords is boring for me.

but

a melody over straight chords is also boring.

a fine line between chops and melody to make good music (imo).

ie a good melody is of value for me only if its backed by chops.

everybody loves scenery and the fish.

what are some of your other favorite albums with good guitar work supporting solid melody, without going all dumb on the solos?
