Green Day

Well, I'm drunk :) and thought, "you know what, I haven't been to the Greeen Day thread in a while"

So I go there, and find it's been cloded :(

So, I thought I'd start a new one, just for fun.

So....a discusssion....

Whaddya think of 1039 smoothed out slappy hours?

Personally I loved it, not as much as Dookie (like, duh!) but probably my 2nd favourite Green Day album

Iluvpowerchords 09-14-2006 09:13 PM

I approve of all Green Day releases prior to, and including Dookie.

Call me lame, but that's what I think.

maXterbat0r 09-14-2006 09:13 PM

I didn't think American Idiot was THAT bad, myself...

oh, and never heard Slappy Hours

hardrock1315 09-14-2006 09:14 PM

I'd say every Green Day release has at least a few good songs, and 1039 SOSH is definitely my favorite. "The Judge's Daughter" is like the best song ever.

Hells Yeah!

And they say Billie Joe Armstrong can't play guitar.

4string (dude, I forgot your real name, sorry, is it Max?) Check out 1039 slappy hours, it's like Dookie, but with SOLOS!!!!!!!1

frodoisdead 09-15-2006 05:16 AM

i only like a handful of greenday songs.

there's something about them that i just don't like.

Adarsh 09-15-2006 07:59 AM

1039 was a great album, but the last 5-6 songs were quite repetitive....only complaint
but they were liek 16-17, so....
The solos in Judge's Daughter, Only Of You, Dry Ice.......RULE

IndieMetalhead 09-15-2006 08:27 AM

i only really like a few songs. longview and hitching a ride and a few others i cant remember the names of. American Idiot, however, annoys the sh*t out of me.

FrenchyFungus 09-15-2006 12:37 PM

I like American Idiot, but I'm very scared that the next album will be shite

jackh131 09-15-2006 03:20 PM

I'm very scared that there'll be a next album. Don't get me wrong, I love their older stuff, but American Idiot was awful.

GLP_Arclite 09-15-2006 03:26 PM

i used to like them before american idiot, that kinda ruined it for me, if they go back to their old stuff itll be great

ok, I will after listening straight through octavarium :)

and it is Max :)

Guitarist132 09-15-2006 03:45 PM

I just flat out dont really like them, except for a few songs.

batesyy 09-15-2006 08:58 PM

My first album I ever bought was Dookie.

But I wasn't a fan of the new tracks on International Superhits and American Idiot.

stepco12345 09-15-2006 10:21 PM

Greeeen Day I good but the thing is they get syndicated way too much.It is so bad that sometimes they get annoying. They don't have that bad songs, it's just that they get way overplayed. I hear like the same gree day songs sometimes like 6 times a day. Seriously.

greendayguitar 09-15-2006 10:25 PM

American Idiot wasnt that bad an album, despite what the Green Day haters say. I liked Dookie as well. Nimrod, meh. Never heard SOSH though.

I've kinda grown out of my Green Day phase though, I find them too repetitive.

stepco12345 09-15-2006 10:30 PM

Yeah, me too sorta, but i listen to them a good once and a while. They do not deservce the flamez01dzz that people give them.

neidnarb11890 09-15-2006 11:30 PM

Kerplunk is my favorite album, followed by 1039 SOSHs. Dookie was good, Insomniac was good, Nimrod was decent-I felt it had some real good songs, and some that were just s***-Warning was their worst/poppiest album, American Idiot was decent, but not deserving of all the hype it got.
I used to love Green Day, but not anymore. I don't think they deserve the mass amounts of flamage they get though. Anyone who listens to the older stuff (pre-Dookie) knows Billie Joe doesn't suck at guitar so much as he chooses to play simple power chords.

Truth Seeker 09-16-2006 08:14 PM

^Kerplunk! is my favorite Green Day album too...

However, I did not think that Warning was all that bad. It was just a fun poppy album...
