Ya I stole the idea. :eek:
Basically the idea here is to post a mix of some of your favorite blues and jazz for all to give a listen to. You can upload them to www.muxtape.com or http://megaupload.com/.
Try to keep it to a half hour or less so people don't get bored waiting for it to download.
Every 2 weeks we'll put up a new mix. So go ahead and sign up for what time you would like. I'll start it the first week of June.

I'm going to start it out at every 2 weeks but if that becomes too slow we can make it weekly.

That's the idea. But more blues/jazz based. If somebody wants to throw in something else I have no problem but lets try to keep it predominantly blues/jazz.

Yeah can I get explanation of how this is gonna work cos I have no idea..

I figured that maybe once a week or fortnight we could just have someone upload a mix then update it with someone elses for the next time.. If that makes sense. Like one person at a tie so everyone gets a fair chance at having theirs listened to instead of just posting them all at once. Maybe do like an hour each since some blues songs go for like 10min+ so half hour might be tricky if you choose a long song.

But yeah I'm definitely keen, I'm sure I have loads of stuff not many people know and I'm always searching for new music to listen to.

So yeah, maybe start a sign-up roster for when you want them and we can start getting them ready?

I've kinda made one...just to clarify:

-A new one gets put up every 2 weaks.
-30 minutes/1 hour slots
-with a rota, keeping it mainly to regulars theres a growing amount and we could send some pms out to people that might be interested.

or is it like, everyone puts up 30 mins of music together and it all goes into one program kinda thing; and then we make a new one in 2 weaks?

Methinks weekly would be better. Muxtape has a 12 song limit i think, which puts us at about an hour for 4-5.5 minute songs. Signup by week, archive old shows?

1 user every 2 weeks. Gives folks a chance to listen to it. If you could try to keep your mix to 30 minutes just to make the dl easier. As many songs as you like in the 30 minutes. Or shorter if you prefer. And ya I'll start posting a roster. If you'd like to be 1st I'll put you down for June 1st. Then next person Jun15th and so on.

I'm gonna upload it now, it's 38 minutes long and has 12 tracks. Just some of my favourite tunes in a decent order, that I like to think tells a story. :o

i think it should be one week. i mean, two seems too slow in my opinion.

^ I agree, it's not gonna take a weak to listen to about 10-15 songs, and we can always leave all of them up there at the top so that people can go back and listen to them. I'd be happy to edit my post at the top to put everything in there, seeing as I'm fairly active in here. :)

MONSTA EDIT: Ignore that idea. You can only have 12 tracks at a time on Muxtape, so that's not feasible. :mad:

MONSTA EDIT2: I've encountered a small problem...on Muxtape, it has to be an MP3 and all of my files are WMA. :rolleyes:
Trying Megaupload now...I think it's pretty slow on single tracks and it's annoying to download everything separately...this is a bit of a hassle. :mad:

Anyone able to tell me how to get all the tracks into one file? :(

Am I allowed to do it differently and mix the songs into 1 long track with Audacity so it actually is like a proper mix tape/radio and you can't skip past songs? So have a folder with just the audio file and a notepad document that tells you: Artist - Track Title - Album - Any other random info about it you want to add?

Seems like a cool way to do it so if I'm allowed to do that just lemme know and I'll start mixing it.

Would also make it easier to fit the time constraints for people you could cut down long songs and just have little tastes of some stuff with maybe some full songs thrown in aswell?

BTW tht is all subject to me learning how to use Audacity first Lol
