I have the Duncan Distortion/59 set in my MH400....

I have the Duncan Distortion/59 set in my MH400. Great set, though I personally think that the 59 isn't quite hot enough to match the Distortion.

Nah, it's harmonic distortion, same as an amp. FM modulation like that makes a vibrato effect (with addition of a time component that makes a chorus).

I have to disagree on that one. They're not Ibanez thin, but they're definitely on the thinner side. I've owned a lot of LTDs and the "Thin U" profile is kind of like a somewhat thinner and flatter...

Yes. You tape over the pickups/any electronics you don't want to get little bits of metal in.

I also use 0000 steel wool to polish frets, if I don't have silly high grit sandpaper lying around.

+1. Picked up an old 5150 for $400 a few months ago. Traded it for a 5150 II since I prefer the separate EQs for clean and dirty.

I don't like Kahlers personally. The Floyd Rose design generally speaking works better than the Kahler design. Fewer friction points on the Floyd = better tuning stability. Plus, they're much easier...
