First of all, Gm is the vi chord in Bb major and it's pretty common to have both the tonic and the vi chord...

The way I'd quickly come up with the chords is realise that Bm is the relative minor of D major (because I'm more intuitive with the major intervals) and then just use the shapes based around that....
