I've the same set in my strat, and I set them up...

I've the same set in my strat, and I set them up the same way as regular single coils. A strat without the hum is just something of pure win. :)

I recommend getting full EMG set. The lundgren M model pickups sound awesome, but imo still require a lot more tweaking from your amp than EMG:s to get a clear, nice tight tone on distortion.

The nut width of a 6-string guitar and 4-string bass is pretty close to each other, so the nut change doesn't cause so much problems, and the string spacing stays pretty reasonable.

There has to be a grounding issue in your bridge pickup. First thing is to check if the bridge pickups ground is soldered correctly, and that the soldering hasn't gone cold.
