Yes. What that is there, is essentially a 1x12 speaker cabinet. You'll need an amp head or combo with more speaker outputs to power it.

No, he needs a speaker cable to connect his amp head to a cab. You don't need a balanced cable though an unbalanced one is what you need (one ring on the jack) as the amps signal is mono.

I've heard the display on the boss is a bit brighter. I own the pitchblack, and at an outdoor gig in sunlight its pretty hard to make out. I'd say they're both pretty similar though!

The only difference between the standard decimator and the g-string is that the g-string can be used in stereo, so unless you're using a stereo rig, I wouldn't bother spending more for the g-string....

I'm guessing you play metal, but any other genre you're going for? other than that if you can, bring your amp with you to try them out and see what works best! those are two pretty different guitars!

Everyone will tell you to buy a new amp instead. Which is really what you should do, as different pickups won't make much of a difference through a digital/modelling amp.

Yeah I looked into that alright! but you need an order of at least 800 picks! I'd hate to imagine the cost of that! I only want about 50-100.
