I never said there was anything inherently wrong with diminished chords, they undoubtably have their place, I'm just wondering about alternatives.

Replacing fifths with fourths in chords

Alright, every diatonic scale has one chord which lacks a perfect fifth, so people often mention the use of the diminished chord there instead. Why is it that nobody ever (or at least very rarely)...
