Euhm, a MIDI-controller isn't related to a style. They have some functions that you can use in a certain way but there are no D 'n B MIDI-controllers or Techno-keyboards or something like that.

EHX LPB-1 is as expensive as 4 packs of cigarettes and a very decent one.
It's not completely 'clean' since you'll get more mid-low but I like that for a nice lead...

I can only say that me and my 'fellow producers' really like Focusrite. Good pre-amps, reliable and with the MixControl it's versatile as well (though it can be a bit of a hassle in the beginning)
