Yeah that's pretty much the approach I take too...

Yeah that's pretty much the approach I take too :haha I find it easier to just finger the chords differently (most of the time) than to use a capo.

EDIT: for ac/dc and green day consider a strat with a bridge humbucker (HSS strat) rather than the one with 3 single coils.
