Get the case that Amazon sells with the Kindle. I think it's the one pictured above. It turns the Kindle on and off when you open / close it and works great.

I have eleven guitars hanging in my music room and they all stay in tune for weeks at a time. Your detuning is more likely to be from changes in temperature and humidity.
