One of the effects I enjoy when recording a cranked Marshall head...windows rattle though, mailman run away, dogs whimper in fright and ear trumpets are shattered :)

I have Princeton 112 and it is one of the better solid state amps that I've played. The other amp would be more valuable though, fix and sell or keep, I guess check with eBay and local ads for price.

Vox Tonelab series is a great option. Boss gt-10 is great second hand. Alternately you can get Boss Dr. Rhythm 880 has a gt-6 like processor and drum machine.
