Sennheiser HD280s are very very good at keeping out outside noise. Not the absolute best sounding cans IMO, but for under $100 they're hard to beat if you want a good closed-back headphone. A step up...

I use an Alto TS115A as a monitor for both my Eleven Rack and my other guitar player's POD HD simultaneously. Great speaker for the price. It has a ton of low end and you'll have to tune your patches...
